Teflon T-62 Versus Standard PTFE
In 1953, Resistoflex invented the Teflon™ hose. While developing hoses, Resistoflex experimented with many different Teflon™ compounds and finally settled upon the Teflon T-62 resin due to its excellent chemical and mechanical properties.
It was discovered that the T-62 resin helped maximize flex life with its superior mechanical properties. This is a common concern for industrial hoses due to the pressures and bending movements that a typical hose sees in a factory application. Flex life is defined as the tear resistance due to repeated mechanical bending and stretching. The molecular structure of Teflon T-62 gives it a significant advantage over standard PTFE hoses.
